My Octarine doll completes the set of 9. She remains a work in progress, but that doesn’t stop me evoking her already. Besides she already looks quite cool anyway. You may have already seen a picture of her because I performed an evocation of her during my summoning storm operation back in April. We will often include her in Octarine related altars and divinations even when we don’t perform a full evocation. Like the other dolls she moves around our home depending on where she seems most needed. Since she represents the colour of octarine, invisible to the physical eyes, I chose to represent her with a combination of black, silver and gold, representative of the three phases of the alchemical great work, the Nigredo, the Albedo and the Rubedo. The latter two produce at their conclusion, philosophers stones capable of creating silver and gold respectively. This will be her base colours. Other sigils and decorations will be added.
I would like to share the 11th chapter of my autobiographical sigilic living-book, the Alchemical Astronomicon !!
Just kidding… but, yes, maybe if I don’t die too old a grandchild can use my skin for the cover of the family grimoire, huh? I would love to live the afterlife as a book
I selected some alchemical and astrological signs, and planetary intelligences from Francis Barret’s Magus and Behenian Stars from Agrippa’s De Occulta Philosophia libri III, and then took them to my friend Paulo André from Voodoo Tattoo – Brazil RJ, who stochastically applied them to my arm.
I always felt interested in magickal use of Mudras but was often frustrated by their limited use in terms of practical or “mundane” magick. For instance, it is suspicious that one feels easy to use Dhyāna Mudrā or Chin Mudrā for gaining money or sex – I mean, they are much more Octarine Mudras, concerned with Mystical Experience or the Gnostic State iself.
I was precisely thinking about this once, inside a bus, when an event called my attention: two teenagers (probably at least one of them deaf) were using LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language) to communicate. Then I thought “that’s it!!”. This was about two years ago and in that very day I decided to experiment with this “illumination” in practice, sigilizing an intent with Sign Language. It consisted of the classical method of writing down the statement of intent, eliminating repeated letters (Liber Null, Page 21) and then rearranging the remaining letters in signs that were later used in ritual. In my case, I also used the same letters for mantric sigil (so there was a synchronicity between the hands and the Vishuddha chakra). This can be developed to another myriad of ways (e.g. creating Mudras based on Sign Language for the Alphabet of Desire, Mudras for Banishing, controlling others’ minds – remember Jedi mind trick hand gesture? – and so on).
I am submitting a British Sign Language chart here not only because it was the one I used (I don’t know why, despite I’m Brazilian, my magick was always English Speaking), but also because English is the major language in kiamagic.com. Nevertheless, many countries have their own Sign Language. I never tried sigilizing Ouranian Barbaric, but feels exciting, no?
By the way, I suggest the Abhaya Mudrā (“no-fear” for those who were interested in @spiral ’s http://kiamagic.com/2013/09/08/freedom/ post and the comments related to it. Also, Grant Morrisson’s classical “King Mob’s Mudra” (sitting in Guru position with a fuck sign in each hand) should be the official Mudra of @anton ‘s http://kiamagic.com/2013/08/08/slavery-redefined-magickal-response/ item five.
